Join us to support one of the best attended charity lunches in Oxfordshire
The Summer Lunch is on 2nd July 2019 at Moulsford Prep School, on the banks of the River Thames. The hall is transformed into an elegant luncheon venue for over 300 guests, in order to support our chosen charities for the year, MacMillan and Child Bereavement UK. The event will be open from 10am for coffee, cake and shopping and all guests will be asked to be seated for lunch by 12:15pm.
History of The Summer Lunch
The Summer Lunch began almost 20 years ago when a group of women who enjoyed each other’s company decided to pool their culinary resources and all bring a dish to lunch. It was an opportunity to catch up with friends, swap food and fill up on fodder for the soul. It also brought together a shared idea that compassion and kindness could spread further than the dining table they sat around. These ladies began to put money in a jar when they met. The money would go to a worthy cause that they felt deserved their support, and so The Summer Lunch was born.
Year upon year the number of people generously giving their time and support has grown, and whilst the dining table has long been left behind, the history and ethos of all that The Summer Lunch should be remains very much at the heart of this wonderful event. Charities such as the NSPCC and Macmillan have been supported over the years and we look forward to helping many more worthy causes through your goodwill and generosity.
Above all we wish for the day to be full of your enjoyment and to raise much needed funds for our chosen charities. Please join us, take delight in the time with your friends old and new, peruse the pop-up shops, eat delicious food and be inspired by our speaker. We would love you to come and be part of the ever evolving story of The Summer Lunch.
